2019 Atlas Peak Merlot
2019 again gave us an opportunity to bottle a small amount of the distinct Merlot from our Atlas Peak estate after its blending into the Atlas Peak Cabernet.
A gorgeous dark ruby in the glass, it offers aromas of red and blue fruits. There is a freshness and sweetness to the fruit, balanced by sweet leafy herbs and balsamic reduction. It enters the palate vibrant and juicy with bold flavors of black cherry, plum, boysenberry and blueberry jam. The luscious fruit is accented by elements of mineral, chocolate mint and Genovese basil. It is perhaps our most exuberant expression yet of Merlot. This is a great example of the qualities we seek in blending this variety into the Atlas Peak Cabernet.
