2021 Atlas Peak Merlot
This wine has a pretty nose of fresh flowers along with Kirsch brandied cherries, cedar, vanilla, violets and crushed red berries.
It exhibits a medium-plus body on the palate with lively and bright notes of red cherry and currant tempered by bass notes of dark plum, black cherry and black raspberry and hints of suede and tobacco. There is a cola suggestion of sweetness adding lift to the finish, ending on raspberry coulis. There is wonderful balance of silky fine-grained tannins and good acidity that accent the bright and juicy fruit flavors well.
