2016 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from one of our vineyards in Napa's famed Oak Knoll District, this wonderfully balanced wine delivers complex flavors in a silky package.
1/17/22 update- As gorgeous as her Atlas Peak big brother, this vintage is entering a lovely phase. On the nose, wafts of caramel and toasted vanilla from the oak integrate with the darker berry fruit profile of 2016. Aromas of black currant, black plum, blueberry skin and bay leaf are lifted by a streak of red cherry. The wine is currently displaying beautiful balance with now-relaxing tannins, lifted by lively acidity and luscious fruit with accents of coacoa nib, espresso bean, and cassis. It finishes long, but not heavy on the palate.
The Lobo '15 vintage was honored by Decanter as the highest rated of 197 California Cabs judged, and this vintage is strikingly similar. 92 pts- James Suckling; 91 pts Wine Advocate.
