2013 Napa Valley Pinot Noir
Like all Lobo wines, this is from single vineyard fruit, 100% estate grown.
ike all Lobo wines, this is from single vineyard fruit, 100% estate grown.
After being hand-picked and cold soaked on skins, the wine is aged for 11 months in 35% new French oak, primarily from Dargaud & Jaegle, Marsannay and Francois Freres.
In the glass, the color is a bright ruby leading into garnet. It remains wonderfully aromatic with bright red cherry, cranberry, pomegranate and hints of tarragon and fresh flowers. Lively and bright on the palate it has luscious fruit that includes cherries, strawberry, and red plum with pomegranate, underlying cedarwood, and warm spice. Subtle hints of white pepper. The wine has still-present grip from fine-grained tannin balanced with luscious, juicy acidity. It remains youthful, drinking wonderfully now and should provide another decade of enjoyment if cellared well. Aug 2021
